(Conspiracy Nation, 3/29/04) -- A new book by American journalist Daniel Hopsicker links a Florida flight school used by supposed 9/11 terrorists with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and illegal drug smuggling.
The book, Welcome To Terrorland, is not being reported on by most mass media, even though it is a best-seller in Germany. Google searches by Conspiracy Nation have returned only two hits in the international media.
You remember Mohammed Atta: he was the supposed leader of the 19 Arabs with boxcutter knives who brought America to her knees. His passport was reported to have been recovered "intact in the smoking ruins of the World Trade Center..." (9/11: The Big Lie, by Thierry Meyssan. London: Carnot Publishing, 2002. ISBN: 1-59209-026-5)
This Atta was (is) supposedly so devoted to Islam that he gave his life for the cause. Meyssan (op. cit.) mentions his frequent attendance at a topless nightclub in Las Vegas, but maybe that was just a clever disguise to hide his devotion to Allah.
But Hopsicker, in his new book, reportedly traces Atta's party hearty lifestyle back to Germany. Atta must have loved his party animal "disguise", since he used it for years. Hopsicker reveals Atta "as a swinging party animal, partial to alcohol, cocaine and night clubs and far removed from the devout Muslim student in Hamburg that the press largely focused on." ("Book Casts Sept. 11 Terrorist In Unexpected Light," Deutsche Welle, DW-WORLD.DE, March 29, 2004)
Reportedly, author Hopsicker ties Florida's Huffman Aviation School, attended by Atta in June 2000, to drug smuggling and the CIA. Hopsicker claims "the owners of the flight schools themselves were involved in drug operations and had dubious funding sources, were known to the FBI and CIA, but were deliberately kept secret." (Deutsche Welle, op. cit.)
Atta was already a trained pilot when he attended the aviation school in Venice, Florida. Hopsicker implies that Atta's attendance was camouflage for something else. "Hopsicker writes that the Venice airfield was the scene of a major drug smuggling operation in 2000 -- at the same time that Atta trained there -- that apparently was observed by the FBI, CIA and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)." (Deutsche Welle, op. cit.)
Hopsicker reportedly "is convinced that U.S. authorities ignored the drug links in their investigations into Sept. 11 and says the attacks are nothing but the beginning of the 'first worldwide drug war.'" (Deutsche Welle, op. cit.)
Hopsicker is also the author of Barry and "The Boys": The CIA, the Mob and America's Secret History, according to a little-noticed article in The Green Bay Press-Gazette. ("AMS Co-founder Bankrolled 9-11 Flight Academy," March 22, 2004) The book apparently deals with notorious deep cover operative Barry Seal and the Iran-Contra drug smuggling operations.
The Green Bay newspaper describes Welcome To Terrorland as packed with "terrorists, drug runners, cover-ups, the CIA and the KGB."
Hopsicker reportedly publishes his investigative reports on the Internet at MadCow Morning News (www.madcowprod.com).
Co-incident to last week's official 9/11 inquiry, little-known facts about the September 11, 2001 terror events have been brought to light by independent investigators:
