Strange Ben-Gurion Airport Shooting
(Conspiracy Nation, 06/25/08) – Yesterday, John the Baptist Day, a strange shooting happened at Israel's Ben-Gurion International Airport. During a farewell ceremony in honor of French President Nicolas Sarkozy, an Israeli police officer committed suicide.
Except for suicide bombers, whose actual deed is more murder than suicide, it is quite unusual for a suicide to occur in public. Suicide is usually a private matter. And for a trusted police officer, on guard at an official ceremony, to pull out a pistol and blow out his brains is astonishing.
Several wire services carried the report. Witnesses said the officer fell from a roof after shooting himself. (AP). An unidentified Border Guard officer used his own weapon during the incident. (UPI). A spokesman of Israel Border Police refused to disclose any details of the incident. (Xinhua).
The Jerusalem Post carried more details. Sarkozy and his wife were accompanied by Israel's Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and President Shimon Peres. Sarkozy had addressed the Knesset, Israel's Parliament, during his visit.
Israel Insider was blunt in its report on the Sarkozy Knesset speech. “Sarkozy said that any peace deal must recognize Jerusalem as the capital of both Israel and Palestine. Creating an enemy entity in its midst was a splendid thing for Jewish Israelis, he said.” (“Sarkozy call to move Jews from Judea, split capital, gets Knesset ovation,” by Israel Insider staff. June 23, 2008)
Reader comments to the Jerusalem Post report (“Suicide shock at Sarkozy's farewell,” by Yaakov Lappin) provide intriguing speculation on the Ben-Gurion Airport shooting.
The astonishing suicide of an Israeli police officer yesterday “doesn't pass the smell test,” opined “Avi.” Several readers voiced suspicion about the event.
“Israeli soldier falls off wall, dies and gun misfires. Two female soldiers faint,” alleged “Paul the Hebrew.”
“A more likely reality is that the border policeman took a shot at one of the dignitaries and was then shot by a security sniper,” theorized “J. Frank Mortimer.”
The “secret sources” weighed in. “Nancy” heard “from an Israeli security source” that a bullet exploded due to the “extreme heat.” “Joel Leyden” also heard a bullet had exploded due to “extreme heat.” But how hot was it at the airport? 110 degrees Fahrenheit? This “extreme heat” explanation seems like disinformation.
“Albert” pairs the airport shooting with the recent severe beating of a Jew in Paris. Rudy Haddad was attacked on Saturday, June 21, after a fight broke out between young Jews and youths of African origin in north-east Paris.
“Mr. Tour Guide” sees a wider scope. It is the period of the Judges combined with Aristoboulus pleading to Rome for help while the nation crumbles. Aristoboulus was one of Herod's sons. It was Herod who slew John the Baptist. Herod “feared lest the great influence John had over the people might put it into his power and inclination to raise a rebellion...” Herod “thought it best, by putting [John the Baptist] to death, to prevent any mischief he might cause...” (Antiquities of the Jews, by Flavius Josephus. 18.5.2)
Yesterday, in “Johannite Alert” (http://www.shout.net/~bigred/Johannite.html), Conspiracy Nation advised, “Today is John the Baptist Day and also a Tuesday (Tiw's Day). Some sort of martial (Mars) theme may erupt. Or, significant news hidden in a low-key report might appear. Watch carefully whatever happens today.” The strange Ben-Gurion Airport shooting tentatively qualifies as the John the Baptist Day event.
Anything can happen. This was the Mickey Mouse Club designation for Wednesdays (Wotan's Day): “Anything Can Happen Day.” Wotan's Day is governed by Mercury. Today is deemed mercurial.
