Eerie “Big Joe” Coincidence
(Conspiracy Nation, 05/24/08) – About 4 a.m. yesterday, this editor, groggy from sleep, put the water on for some green tea. A song ran through his head as he splashed cold water on his face: “Big Joe And Phantom 309.”
Why was that particular song running through his head? Was it a message from the beyond? For later that day, an eerie similarity to “Big Joe And Phantom 309” occurred.
Struck by the line about Big Joe tossing the hitchhiker a dime and saying, “Get yourself a cup of coffee on old Big Joe,” Conspiracy Nation began writing a report. There really was a time when 10 cents would buy a cup of coffee. How things have changed! “Big Joe Parks His Rig” (http://www.shout.net/~bigred/BigJoe.html) went out early yesterday morning. The time can be confirmed from the alt.conspiracy newsgroup post.
“There was a whole bus load of kids, and they were just comin' from school. And they were right in the middle when Joe topped the hill...” (“Big Joe And Phantom 309”, Tom Waits version. From album “Nighthawks At The Diner”, 1975)
Yesterday afternoon, in western Kenosha county, Wisconsin, a semi-trailer truck smashed into the back of a school bus. Fourteen children were injured, some seriously. The “road rises slightly” (a hill) where the accident took place. (“Semi Hits School Bus”, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, May 24, 2008). “The semi came over the hill and struck the bus right in the middle of the rear end,” stated a witness.” (“School bus, semitrailer collide in Wisconsin,” AP, May 23, 2008)
“And they were right in the middle when Joe topped the hill...” (“Big Joe And Phantom 309”)
“The speed limit on the highway is 55 miles per hour, and the bus stop was located on the crest of a small hill,” states a separate report. (“Evening Update: Semi Hits School Bus,” Journal Times, May 23, 2008)
“...this here rig'll be puttin' 'em all to shame, why there ain't a driver on this or any other line for that matter that's seen nothin' but the taillights of Big Joe and Phantom 309.” (“Big Joe And Phantom 309”)
The driver of the truck involved in yesterday's semitrailer crash in Wisconsin, as well as the school bus driver, were also injured, besides the 14 children. The truck driver, whose name has not yet been released, is in critical condition.
It is now 3:05 a.m., Saturday, May 24th. Goose bumps arise on this editor's arms. Besides the eeriness of the “Big Joe” coincidence, obvious symbolism and omens are present. For instance, there is a push to reduce speed limits to 55 mph and “Big Joe” of the song has a rig (truck) of which other drivers “see nothing but the taillights.” Also, there is a masculine aura in the “Big Joe” song. Also, coffee is called “a cup of joe”, as in “Big Joe.” It is too early to tell how this will play out.
