Howdy-Doody Brainwashed Boomers?

(Conspiracy Nation, 02/28/06) -- You can trust those lovable characters in 1950s-era TV programs, right? Such is what happened, as today's Baby Boomers were parked in front of the Boob Tube by their "Greatest Generation" parents. But something may have gone horribly wrong!

It has been reliably ascertained that, following World War II, a duplicitous outfit called the Congress for Cultural Freedom (CCF) was in fact set up. This discovery comes on the heels of assertions by controversial figure Lyndon LaRouche that young Baby Boomers were "subjected to a mass-brainwashing by an institution called the Congress for Cultural Freedom."

In 1967 it was revealed that the CCF, founded in 1950, had been a front for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The CCF had infiltrated the arts so as to control the culture.

Although exposed in 1967, a CCF-type operation seems to have essentially continued unchanged. Reportedly, "In December, 2005, the Washington Times published a commentary by Paul Greenberg, in which Greenberg praises the propaganda activity of the CCF and equates it with the recent activities of the Bush administration, where government money was used to purchase the services of Iraqi and American journalists and editors, in order to publish stories favorable to the U.S. invasion of Iraq."

It is with trepidation that Conspiracy Nation makes use of the "Howdy Doody" image above. Previously, this publication had asked some hard questions about Barney the Purple Dinosaur. "Lovable Barney" has been involved with the torture of Iraqi prisoners, for example. Subsequent to Barney exposes by Conspiracy Nation, this editor was contacted by Barney Agents who demanded Barney images be pulled from the web site. In fear, this editor complied. Will Howdy Doody Agents likewise intimidate this publication?

It is known that the Congress for Cultural Freedom (CCF) had been a CIA front used against Communism. The idea was to win "hearts and minds" by showing Capitalism to be culturally fertile. To this end, various artists were unwittingly co-opted via the teat of Foundation grants, the Foundations serving as a pass-through for CIA monies. However authors Steven Meyer & Jeffrey Steinberg plausibly show how anti-Communist culture may have "blown back" here to the U.S. and twisted the "hearts and minds" of young Baby Boomers.

In The Congress for Cultural Freedom: Making the Postwar World Safe for Fascist Kulturkampf, Meyer & Steinberg allege a plot to basically wreck European and American culture. After Franklin D. Roosevelt's suspicious death in 1945, a new gang took the helm of the American ship of state. The Baby Boomer drug/rock/sex counterculture was willfully engineered in order to infantilize that generation, it is charged, so as better to control them. Top-Forty music was exploited. Eros was used as a narcotic. The plan was to create a cultural paradigm shift away from imago dei (inherent "image of God" human dignity) and toward rudderless "man as god" humanism. This would be "the ultimate antidote to the hated Western Judeo-Christian civilization."

Anti-human, bestial policies represented by the rock-drug-sex counterculture, which took off in the 1960s, have leaded to cultural pessimism, argues the Citizens Electoral Council (CEC). They combat "the Congress for Cultural Freedom (CCF)—a CIA-funded cultural warfare unit sponsoring hideous modernist and postmodernist 'art' against the Classical tradition in art. This irrational garbage called 'art' is used as a way of undermining the population's ability to think."

A further question not addressed is, why do so-called "progressive" publications such as Nation magazine consistently deride evidence pointing to a cover-up of the true facts surrounding the events of September 11, 2001? Could such "alternative" outlets indirectly receive funding from CIA culture warriors?

A further twist is Lyndon LaRouche and his organization themselves. One conjecture has them as a front for Roman Catholicism. Beware of the Ditto-head nature of LaRouche zombies who ironically, like some Boomer zombies, also do not think for themselves but invariably echo statements of their leader.
