-- Ted Koppel has hosted a TV news program since 1980. It may be called
"Nightline," but this editor ceased watching television in 1999 due to
apoplexy fits caused by constant Bill Clinton invasions of his living
room. Koppel, it has been announced, will do his last show on
November 22. This is the same day John F. Kennedy was assassinated in
Dallas, in 1963. This year, Nov. 22 falls two days before Thanksgiving, so
perhaps there isn't any signal in Koppel's final show date. Then again,
there can be synchronicities. |
"Synchronicity" is a term coined by psychologist Carl Jung.
Sometimes seemingly unconnected temporal occurrences are not coincidences. This is not to say
that Ted Koppel knowingly chose Nov. 22; instead, a sort of deeper
universal consciousness, Jung's "collective unconscious," has chosen
the date.
It is an omen. But what
does it mean? It can be hard enough just to spot omens: they occur when
you'd least expect. Once you have spotted the omen, its meaning can be
conjectured.
Omens connect with current events. The rumor mill is in high gear
these days. Housing bubble collapses, indictments of Bush & Co.,
Peak Oil... all of them Future News:
News Before It Happens.
In a parallel universe, the Future News is, Housing Prices Level
Off; Fitzgerald Decides Against Indictments; Oil Prices Sink.
In one of infinite possible universes, the Future News is,
Foreclosures
Skyrocket; Bush Commits Suicide; Gas Prices Hit $10 per Gallon.
One rumor floating around is that George W. Bush has been tilting
back a whiskey bottle. This could be disinformation: propaganda
circulated by Dubya's enemies. Then again, Future News: Bush Drinks Himself To Death. He
died on Nov. 22, the same day that JFK was assassinated and Ted Koppel
did his final show. Coincidence? Perhaps...
Also intersecting with the Koppel
Omen is the upcoming Million More March (MMM, an upside-down
WWW), scheduled for
October 15th in Washington, DC. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has
issued a press release. "With the Millions More Movement
march in Washington, D.C. approaching, the Anti- Defamation League
(ADL) once again is raising its concerns that the event is being led by
the anti-Semitic and racist Minister Louis Farrakhan and Malik Zulu
Shabazz." ("As 'Millions More' March Approaches, ADL Exposes
Farrakhan's and Shabazz's Racism and Anti-Semitism," 10/6/2005.
Contact: Myrna Shinbaum, 212-885-7747, or Todd Gutnick, 212-885-7755,
both of ADL)
Russell Simmons, chairman of the Hip Hop Summit Action Network,
responds to a previous ADL press release, "ADL
Urges Prominent
African-American Leaders to Reconsider Their Support of the Millions
More Movement." Simmons, in an open letter to Abraham H. Foxman, ADL
Director, claims "For the record, we do
not and would not support or endorse
any person's viewpoint that is anti-Semitic, racist or hateful."
Yet, according to ADL, Malik Zulu Shabbaz of the New Black Panther Party,
aligned with the Millions More March, has repeatedly stated some
hateful things. For example, Shabbaz is quoted as saying,
"death to Israel," and "the white man is the devil." He is further
quoted as having exclaimed, ""Kill every
goddamn Zionist in Israel! Goddamn little
babies, goddamn old ladies! Blow up Zionist supermarkets!"
Compare the above with recent remarks by Bill
Bennett, who suggested that aborting all black babies would make the
crime rate go down. Bennett added that this would be "an
impossible, ridiculous and morally reprehensible thing to do."
Nonetheless, Bennett received a shellacking for his momentary
speculation and had to resign from his position at an educational
group. (See "Bennett's Modest Proposal," http://www.shout.net/~bigred/Bennett.html)
This is the Bennett Omen.
It is fraught with meaning. One aspect is, a sacrificial victim, a
symbolic blood-letting demonstrating the power of Red Fascists in
cahoots with Black Fascists. An occultic magical sacrifice lending
power to Farrakhan et al. (See "Apostles, Commies, Reich, and Bennett,"
http://www.shout.net/~bigred/Apostles.html)
Adding to the puzzle are reports that ADL itself is not "squeaky
clean," that it has its own agenda beyond protecting Jews against
defamation.
An ancient Chinese curse says, "May you live in interesting times."
These are "interesting times"
-- too interesting. Beware
this omen as well.
