-- A new film by Andy Garcia joins other sidetracked films shunted
aside amidst the boxcars.
"The Lost City" reportedly depicts pre-Castro Cuba in a
non-"politically correct" light. For that grave offense, the movie is
being panned by critics, according to Humberto Fontova. ("Movie Critics
Aghast at Andy Garcia's 'The Lost City'". Human Events, May 5, 2006. http://www.humaneventsonline.com/article.php?id=14511)
In the mainstream roundhouse, the comrades of criticism dispatch
orders to the engineers. "Shunt aside 'Lost City.' Make way for the Tom
Cruise Express."
Previously, an achingly fine film, "Walk The Line," was shunted
aside to allow the Brokeback Mountain Express to roar through.
Also shunted aside in the past have been "Cinderella Man" and "Far
and Away."
Make a serious film and you're likely to get side-tracked. Make a
brain-dead film, so long as it drones the orthodoxies, and you could be
on the Box Office Express.
Orthodoxies challenged in "The Lost City," according to Fontova (op.
cit.), include:
With the recent surprise of illegal immigrants "coming out of the
shadows" here in the U.S., points made by Fontova in his book, Fidel: Hollywood's Favorite Tyrant
are worth new scrutiny. (http://www.hebookservice.com/products/bookpage.asp?prod_cd=c6616&sour_cd=HEB002901)
This last item (above) is notable in light of Louis Farrakhan's
recent visit with Castro, in Cuba. (http://www.shout.net/~bigred/FarrakhanCuba.html)
Farrakhan, Fuehrer of
"Nation Of Islam," urges unity amongst "persons of color." He deplores
animosity between Latinos and Blacks. He, along with Jesse Jackson, are
the Establishment-"acceptable" replacements for Martin Luther King and
Malcolm X. Both Farrakhan and Jackson have done quite well for
themselves over the years as they claimed to represent the interests of
African-Americans.
Many black Americans, however, are waking up to the fact that Dear
Leaders Jackson and Farrakhan have presided over decline in wages and
increasing imprisonment of blacks. Why are Jackson/Farrakhan supporting
scab labor being smuggled into America to the detriment of their
supposed constituency? (http://www.shout.net/~bigred/TomorrowVote.html)
This editor is fortunate to have been taught by a professor who
escaped from Castro's Cuba. She had been with Fidel in the early days,
and was assured of a high place in the government. Yet appalled by the
let-down of her hopes, she managed to get to Bulgaria and from there
crossed over into the free world. She came legally to the United
States, studied here and obtained a doctorate. Castro's Cuba was not a
nice place, she advised.
Fidel Castro, along with Adam Weishaupt of Illuminati infamy, had
been trained by Jesuits. Both seemingly broke away from the Society of
Jesus. But the Jesuits are fully capable of implementing false covers.
And it is the Jesuits, a secret society within the Catholic Church,
who have pushed "Liberation Theology" in Latin America. That
"liberation" favors such persons as Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua. No fan
of Ronald Reagan, this editor nonetheless reconsiders his
administration's fears of a Communist invasion. Correctly ridiculed was
the notion of Mexican tanks lined up at the border. But suppose an
invading army were to wear no uniform, as such?
