By Which We Measure Our Pain

in the song "God." Pain was a theme at the time (ca. 1971), since
Lennon had been undergoing primal scream therapy with Dr. Arthur Janov.
Evocations of such screams are heard in the former Beatle's song
"Mother."
Dittohead types say, "Yup. Imagine.
A commie song." That is the only song they know.
Imagine had been the
dream song. In God you heard
"The dream is over." The dream ended 25 years ago today when Lennon was
murdered in New York City.

Chapman was a tool utilized by deeper forces to extinguish an honest
voice. Not to say Lennon was always correct, but he definitely spoke
his mind.
What is the connection between Chapman, John Hinckley, Jr., and the
Mel Gibson film, Conspiracy Theory?
A novel by J.D. Salinger, The
Catcher In The Rye. Chapman had the book with him at the scene
of Lennon's shooting, as did Hinckley at the 1981 Ronald Reagan
attempted assassination. Salinger's book is featured prominently in the
Gibson film.

Jose Joaquin Sanjenis Perdomo is the doorman at the Dakota apartments
that fateful night. He is "an anti-Castro Cuban exile and a member of
Brigade 2506 during the Bay of Pigs Invasion in 1961..." (Mazza, op.
cit.) Perdomo is an associate of Frank
Sturgis, whose name will be familiar to some.
Mark David Chapman had done missionary work, under the auspices of
"World Vision, an evangelical charity which runs refugee camps
worldwide." (Mazza, op. cit.) Reportedly, experienced researcher John
Judge writes that "World Vision appears to be an elaborate cover for
the recruitment, training and placement of assassins worldwide."
(Ibid.) Other purportedly Christian mind control occurred at the Branch
Davidian complex near Waco, Texas. Religious cult mind control is
pervasive in the Jonestown experiment. Jim Jones aspects of
psychological brainwashing are used today in some retail environments,
where employees attend "rallies" and "drink the Kool-Aid."
"Imagine a second theory:" writes Mazza. "Perdomo or another
operative fired from the doorway leading to the service elevator, which
was at the left of the walkway and in front of Lennon. There are two
series of two shots. First, two shots hit the left shoulder. As Lennon
runs towards the lobby stairway, two other shots hit his upper left
back. Shooting from that doorway seems a more plausible way to make
those hits. Since the autopsy was not made public, we don't know if
three of the five shots exited, grazed or missed Lennon to hit the
glass lobby door."
Inexplicably, Jose Perdomo screamed at Chapman, following the
shooting, "Leave! Get out of here!" Instead, Chapman sat down and began
reading The Catcher In The
Rye.
"All those years ago," sang George Harrison in his tribute to the
murdered Beatle. It is hard to believe that the generation which was
going to change the world, which promised, "With us, things will be
different,"
becomes ultimately represented by the likes of Bill Clinton and George
W. Bush.
Says John Hinckley, Jr., commenting on the assassination of the
former Beatle, "John
Lennon is
dead, the world is over, forget it." Three months later, Hinckley was the patsy for the Reagan assassination
attempt.
The dream was
over. Later, yippie leader Abbie Hoffman was murdered, disguised as a
"suicide." (See Defrauding
America by Rodney Stich.) Jerry Rubin, working toward economic
empowerment of minorities, encouraging them to use capitalism for their
own progress, is struck by a car and dies. Our authentic populist
leaders suffer suspicious, violent deaths, and stooges get put in their
place.
The Lennon
murder, 25 years ago today, is by
which we measure our pain. We were going to be different.
Instead, we turned out just the same.
