(Conspiracy Nation, 3/14/05)
-- Ignatius Donnelly (image, left) served as a lieutenant governor and
as
a U.S. congressman from 1863 through 1869. He was a pioneering thinker
who actually utilized the Library of Congress while he was in
Washington, DC. Among other things, Donnelly championed the beliefs
that there really had been a lost continent of Atlantis and that
Francis Bacon, not William Shakespeare, wrote "Shakespeare's plays." Donnelly followed the publication of his book, Atlantis (1882) with
another book, Ragnarok: The
Age of Fire and Gravel, in 1883. In Ragnarok, Donnelly
"attempted to relate certain gravel and till deposits to an ancient
near-collision of the Earth and a huge comet." [1] In this, he
anticipated a later book by Immanuel Velikovsky, Worlds in Collision. In an article
published on the Internet, Joe Vialls, who claims to have worked on an
"ultra deep oil" project in India, declares that "unlimited oil
reserves do exist inside planet earth, and the Russians long ago
developed the |
advanced technology necessary to recover these unlimited oil
reserves in an
efficient and timely manner." The unlimited oil, claims Vialls, is many
thousands of feet below the earth's surface and can be brought to the
surface by a special type of drill. Apparently, if Vialls is correct,
the notion of "Peak Oil," that we are running out of petroleum, is just
an oil company scam used to unfairly raise prices and boost profits.
(See Vialls article, "Russia Proves 'Peak Oil' is a Misleading Zionist
Scam," at http://www.vialls.com/wecontrolamerica/peakoil.html)
How did oil originate? How could oil have been formed so far beneath
the earth's surface? Vialls says this question is "not central" to his
report and refers interested readers to "the archives, where there are
more than two hundred Russian papers on the subject."
Whatever these presumed archival Russian papers may say, the
generally accepted theory on oil formation is that it required
single-celled planktonic plants. "Rapid burial of the remains of the
single-celled planktonic plants and animals within fine-grained
sediments effectively preserved them. This provided the organic
materials, the so-called protopetroleum, for later diagenesis (i.e.,
the series of processes involving biological, chemical, and physical
changes) into true petroleum." [2]
The necessity of single-celled planktonic plants for the process of
oil formation argues against Vialls assertion that there could be
"ultra deep oil." Plants do not flourish many thousands of feet below
the surface of the earth. Plants need sunlight.
But what if the generally accepted theory for the origin of
petroleum is wrong? What if oil did not originate courtesy of decayed
plants? In Ragnarok,
Ignatius Donnelly offered evidence for a theory that the earth had,
long ago, collided with a comet. Subsequently, Immanuel Velikovsky
developed that theme into a theory of the origin of petroleum.
"When we remember that meteors are now [1883] generally believed to
be the droppings of comets," writes Donnelly, "we come very near to
proof of the supposition that comets are the debris of exploded
planets."
An ancient collision between the earth and a comet is discernable in
various oral traditions handed down through thousands of years. These
ancient tales had changed with the language over time. The original
story becomes "dressed in a new suit of linguistic clothes." [3]
Donnelly finds common patterns in folklore he unravels from Arabian
myths, Scandinavian legends, Genesis, and the Book of Job.
The proposed comet struck the earth glancingly, or even head-on. The
ice age did not develop in a glacial manner, argues Donnelly, but
arrived suddenly, a consequence of the impact. Donnelly's theory is
supported by professor Torbjorn Tornqvist of the University of Illinois
at Chicago. Recently, Tornqvist has discovered new evidence of a
sudden, dramatic climate change, based on earth core samples. About
8,200 years ago, according to Tornqvist, the average temperature
abruptly plunged 43 degrees Fahrenheit. Tornqvist and his team call
what happened the "8.2 Event," [4] suggesting massive earthquake or collision between planetary bodies.
Animals "seem to have perished suddenly; enveloped in ice at the
moment of their death." At the same moment these animals perished, "the
country they inhabited was rendered glacial." How did the ice come?
What caused it? First, there must have been great heat, leading to
evaporation and clouds. Clouds followed by rain, leading to ice. What
was the source for the great heat? It was a comet. Comets consist of
carbureted hydrogen (carbon and hydrogen), says Donnelly. This, mixed
with the atmosphere of our planet, caused a huge explosion and great
heat. The heat dissipated and there was condensation. Add to the clouds
debris from the comet lingering in the atmosphere and the result was
that the sun's rays were blotted out. Rain from the cooling
condensation turned to snow, then ice. [3]
Immanuel Velikovsky enlarged on Donnelly's pioneering theory in his
book, Worlds In Collision.
What became the planet Venus was expelled from Jupiter due to
gravitational potencies connected with kali-yuga: Hinduism's "great year,"
an infrequent planetary conjunction. Which "gods" (planets) did not
exist from the beginning? Only the birth of Venus is described in
mythology, says Velikovsky. [5]
Venus is the "goddess who 'comes' [venire] to all things." (Cicero, De natura deorum, ii, 69. qtd. in
Velikovsky.) In Latin, Venus is called "Lucifer" when it precedes the
sun, "Hesperos" when it follows the sun. (Cicero, De natura deorum, ii, 53. qtd. in
Velikovsky) Azazel was a fallen star, a "Lucifer." Azazel is a.k.a.
Azza, Uzza, and the Arabic name for Venus is al-Uzza. Lucifer, "the
light bringer," is, in other words, Venus, in Velikovsky's system. [5]
Lucifer (Venus) brought with it debris and carbureted hydrogen. The
carbureted hydrogen, upon mixture with the oxygen in earth's
atmosphere, produced "flaming fire" (Psalms 105), the "fire of the
Lord" (Numbers 11:1) and "strange fire" (Numbers 26:61). It was a
"strange fire" because its substance, Naphtha, the residue remaining
after oxygen had been consumed, had never been seen before. [5]
This substance, Naphtha, came "special delivery" from Jupiter.
Recent astrobiological research suggests that Jupiter is "a big ball of
tar." Katherine Lodders, Ph.D., Washington University in St. Louis
associate professor, studied data from the Galileo probe. Her tentative
conclusion is that Jupiter's core is mainly tar, with a "carbon
inventory" approximately "1.7 times larger than that in the Sun." [6]
The Midrashim are composed of Jewish
theological and cosmological speculations. A portion of the Midrashim (plural of Midrash), the Sefer Yetzira ("Book of Creation"),
speculates on ancient themes. [7] According to Velikovsky, the Midrashim, in several places, tells
how the Egyptians would not let the Israelites leave Egypt and so "God"
rained "naphtha" on the Egyptians. In Aramaic and Hebrew, "naphtha"
means petroleum. [5] Velikovsky discusses numerous historical
traditions. Like Ignatius Donnelly, he develops a common pattern, in
this case pointing to petroleum as having originated from Jupiter, via
a Venus/Earth collision.
Venus, the morning star, the light bringer, Lucifer, gave earth its
oil, if what Conspiracy Nation
designates The Ragnarok Theory
is correct. Hence, the oil we use is Luciferian in origin. Moreover,
this Luciferian Oil would not be abundant many thousands of feet below
the
earth's surface. So, if the Ragnarok Theory is correct, then Joe Vialls
claim of "unlimited oil" is erroneous.
If the Ragnarok Theory and/or the Peak Oil claim is/are correct, we
are indeed in a transitional energy phase. (Peak Oil is the designation
for the claim, advocated by Michael Ruppert and others, that oil
production has peaked and demand for petroleum will henceforth
intensify, in tandem with decreasing supply.) Michael Ruppert and his
"From The Wilderness" "family" foresee a dire situation consequent to
the decline in oil availability. Conspiracy
Nation is not so pessimistic, though admitting that transitional
periods can be difficult. It is the opinion of Conspiracy Nation that suppressed,
alternative energy and energy technologies are waiting off-stage, until
the "stage manager" signals their entrance concurrent with the gradual
expiration of Luciferian Oil. In a future report, Conspiracy Nation plans to examine
some of these suppressed technologies.
