Al Sharpton, A Taunted Tiger

(Conspiracy Nation, 01/20/08) – The mass media is fascinated with stories about the Christmas 2007 tiger attack at the San Francisco Zoo. The subtext of the tale could be “hate speech.”

The newsfakers angle on the tiger attack story is that it had been taunted into torment. (“Sensitive Tiger Taunted Into Torment,” http://www.shout.net/~bigred/TigerTorment.html) This bypasses the question of, How did the tiger escape its enclosure?

The mass media general theme is that the tiger was justified in killing one young man, and mauling two others. The victims had been “taunting” the tiger. This may qualify as “hate speech” against tigers.

The Reverend Al Sharpton may also typify the taunted tiger. He had been listening to the Don Imus radio show and was “taunted into torment” upon hearing Imus mimic prevalent black slang. Sharpton erupted from his habitation and fiercely roared. A wounded Imus crawled off into the wilderness.

The Sharpton taunted-into-torment episode occurred roughly around the time of the 2007 vernal equinox. It coincided with “hate speech” laws being promoted in the U.S. Congress. Also lurking in the foliage around that time was racist caricature Hal Turner. Apparently an FBI agent provocateur, Turner somehow did not receive as much attention from Al Sharpton as did Don Imus. Besides previously unthinkable use of torture as U.S. policy, another unthinkable – restrictions on the free exchange of ideas – has been stalking the American landscape. The advent of Internet and the explosive talk radio popularity has the Establishment running scared. Trent Lott complained that, “Talk radio is running America.” Some radio hosts are tame, and steer conversation into safe areas. But other radio hosts come from the tradition of radio as the wild-and-woolly west. They prefer to “live large,” like the wide open skies of the prairie plains.

Establishment stomach growlings due to free speech digestive difficulties continue to manifest. The latest churning involves popular television host Oprah Winfrey. A cadre of womyn (women, but spelled without “men”, indicating non-dependence on men) has reportedly accused Winfrey of being a “traitor” because she backs Barack Obama for president instead of Hillary Clinton. According to the London Times (op. cit.), Winfrey for the moment seems to have been intimidated by “a barrage of abuse” directed at her. One anonymous post to Winfrey's web site lambasted, “For the first time in history we actually have a shot at putting a woman in the White House and Oprah backs the black MAN. She’s choosing her race over her gender.” The London Times notices that, “So hostile has the response been that some suspect dirty tricks.”
