STILL UNSOLVED: MURDERS OF NICOLE SIMPSON AND RON GOLDMAN ========================================================= (CNNS, 01/04/99) -- More than four years after the bodies of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Lyle Goldman were discovered outside Nicole's Brentwood townhouse on South Bundy Drive in Los Angeles, the case remains technically unsolved. Accused of being the murderer, Orenthal James Simpson was declared "not guilty" in a criminal trial. Popular hysteria surrounding the case, whipped up by a biased mass media, helped lead later to O.J. Simpson's conviction in a civil trial. In the realm of law, O.J. Simpson both is, and is not, guilty. Following Mr. Simpson's acquittal on criminal charges, the Los Angeles County District Attorney, Gil Garcetti, announced that there would be no search, by his office, for other possible suspects in the case. "Case closed," Garcetti seemed to say, even though the case was and remains very much open. The unsatisfactory resolution of the Brown/Goldman murder case has led some to believe that an officially-sanctioned cover-up is in place. Such suspicions are not unwarranted. Left with no honest official investigation probing what happened, the American spirit of self-reliance has brought a host of unofficial investigators into action. In various books, many self-published, and in Internet venues, the American people are democratically putting their heads together. They hope to eventually get to the bottom of what really happened, even while some overly-praised police "heroes" sit, eyes closed, with their thumbs up their asses. Many police officers are fine individuals, who risk their lives working to ensure public safety. Most police officers are just "doing a job," and fear to harm their careers by "rocking the boat." But some police officers are all too human -- so human that they have become corrupted. It all adds up to, mythology notwithstanding, an overall police conglomerate behaving less than heroically in the Brown/Goldman case and in some other notorious cases. With an emasculated press; with a selectively blind police conglomerate; with a public dissatisfied with the non-resolution, after four years, of the Brown/Goldman murder case; the urge to know what really happened has not been, and will not be, stifled. And so, educated guesses, "conspiracy theories," continue to surface. This news service (Conspiracy Nation News Service) has received several intriguing reports in the past weeks, which shed further light on what may have happened to Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Lyle Goldman. In the absence of officials, paid to investigate but refusing to do so, amateur sleuths must be relied upon. Many may sneer at non-professional attempts to find the Truth. But when the professionals refuse to do their job, the vacuum created rushes to be filled. Upcoming: Future CNNS reports cast a wider net in the Brown/Goldman murder case. The case may be much larger than originally thought, involving mobsters, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) or portions thereof, the Hollywood movie-machine, and corrupt Washington, D.C. politicians and political forces -- "a cast of thousands."
