Count Basie: Breakfast Dance and Barbeque
(Roulette, 1959)
Recorded at a disc jockey convention, this concert began at 2am.
If anything, the late start loosens the band up, and the results are
consistently swinging. Edison's solos are highlights (he's a guest on
the concerts). Other notable cuts are "In a Mellow Tone", "Who Me",
and Thad Jones' "Counter Block".

Oscar Peterson and Harry "Sweets" Edison
(Pablo/OJC, 1974)
The third in Oscar Peterson's "Trumpet Kings" duo series. Peterson and
Edison are perfect foils for one another -- Edison's solos are pared down
to his own, personal vocabulary; Peterson is the consummate technician.
Many great standards.
