Macintosh Operating Systems below OS X do not include SSH software by default. We recommend using a free client called NiftyTelnet 1.1 SSH to connct to duracef.shout.net. Once installed, run this program by double clicking on the icon it creates and follow the instructions below to set it up:

  4. Select SSH - Blowfish from the Protocol drop down menu.
  5. Click the Save As ... button to open the Save dialog window.

  6. In the Save dialog window, enter duracef (or the Shortcut Name you entered in step 2) and click the Save button.

  7. You should now see a shortcut to duracef listed in the New Connection window. To connect to the server, highlight the entry in the Shortcut field and click on the Connect button.

  9. If you are connecting for the first time a Host Identification Alert window will pop up and ask if you want to accept the public key. Click on the Accept & Save button and the SSH session to duracef will begin, from which you may change your E-mail password. If you have a full shell account you may also manage your files or check your E-mail with PINE. Type exit to end the session when you have finished.
