Outbound E-mail instructions for Mozilla Thunderbird

 

Open Thunderbird and click on the Tools menu, then select Account Settings... as shown below.


 

In the Account Settings window scroll to the bottom of the left hand pane and select Outgoing Server (SMTP).

Click the Add... button located in the upper right hand of the window as illustrated in the image below:


In the Server Name field, enter outbound.shout.net

In the Port field, enter 587

Under the Security and Authentication section, place a checkmark next to the Use name and password option.

Enter your Shouting Ground username and set the Use secure connection option to TLS, if available.

Your settings should be the same as the settings shown in the window below with the exception of the word username being replaced with your Shouting Ground username.


 

Click the Ok button to save the SMTP Server settings, then click the OK button in the Account Settings window to return to the main Thunderbird program. You should be prompted for your password upon trying to send your next message. This should be the same password you use to log into your E-mail. You may optionally click the Save Password checkbox before clicking the OK button.
