Campaign for Domestic Partner Benefits

This site is dedicated to furthering the Link Association
of Academic Professional’s campaign
for domestic partner benefits at the University of Illinois.
Enacting a domestic partner benefits policy would be one simple yet meaningful
way for the University of Illinois to show its commitment to diversity
and fair treatment of all its employees. The arguments for such a policy
far outweigh the arguments against it on legal, financial and moral grounds.
In 1996 all three University of Illinois campus senates passed resolutions
in support of extending benefits. The University of Illinois commits itself
on paper to non-discrimination based on sexual orientation and marital
status, yet does not back up that commitment with its benefits policy.
Providing such benefits would be a win-win situation for our University
and its dedicated employees. Join us in our campaign.
