-- Those were awful days in old Spain. The Moors infested the land and
Christian Catholics had to submit. But then arose a great champion, Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar. The
Saracen horde learned to fear his name. They abjectly admitted his
valor, calling him "El Cid"
-- The Sir. To the humble people of Spain, he was El Cid Campeador, El Cid the
Champion. He rode a noble horse, Babieca (meaning "Stupid"). Rodrigo had
picked the horse from an Andalusian herd owned by his godfather, Pedro
El Grande. When Rodrigo had chosen the horse, Pedro muttered, "Babieca,
babieca, babieca." |
But Babieca served El Cid
well whenever he rode into battle against the infidels.
Rodrigo was a wise general. Besides studying classic Roman and Greek
authors on military themes, El Cid
Campeador held "what might be called brainstorming sessions
before each battle to discuss tactics. [His soldiers] frequently used
unexpected strategies, engaging in what modern generals would call
psychological warfare; waiting for the enemy to be paralyzed with
terror and then attacking them suddenly..." ("El Cid," Wikipedia
reference, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Cid)
"El Cid had a humble personality and frequently accepted or included
suggestions from his troops. He remained open to input from his
soldiers and to the possibility that he himself was capable of error."
("El Cid," op. cit.) Nonetheless, when Rodrigo went into battle there
was no vacillation. The people called him Campeador; the Moslems just called
him "Sir."
In his final battle, all seemed lost. Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar was
dead. His soldiers used their general one more time, in a stunning
maneuver. They mounted El Cid's
corpse upon Babieca and to the astonishment of his enemies, Rodrigo
seemed to
have risen from the grave to do battle! The Moors fled in terror and
Spain was saved.
In "And Europe Is A Stoney Land" (http://www.shout.net/~bigred/StoneyLand.html)
and "First McChurch Inaugurated" (http://www.shout.net/~bigred/McChurch.htm),
Conspiracy Nation foresaw how
the long battle between the Moors and the Christians would culminate:
with Europe devastated into Medieval ruin. As the Hopi Elders might
say, "It has begun. All the signs are in place."
This situation may see-saw, with the situation in France, for
example, temporarily subsiding. The chain of events nonetheless has
started.
The "Get Smart" web site, Cloak and Dagger (http://www.cloakanddagger.de)
reports a further complication. Supposedly Britain, longtime rival of
France, has been stirring up the stewpot, exacerbating matters. False
rumors were spread among France's Africaines,
it is alleged, leading to widespread riots.
A different source claims that a crackdown on the illegal drug trade
in France ricocheted when drug gangs, suffering diminished revenue,
retaliated. ("French Lawmaker Calls for Imposition of Order," NPR
Morning Edition, 11/08/05. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4993855)
Wayne Madsen claims "there are psy-ops behind the current wave of
unrest in Europe." He further notes the presence of CNN's Christiane
Amanpour. As Conspiracy Nation
has noticed in the past, "Where there's war, there's Amanpour." But
which came first, the Amanpour or the War?
"With Amanpour's scripts obviously being pre-approved by CNN's
Washington head honcho Wolf Blitzer," writes Madsen, "look for CNN to
hype the situation in France and elsewhere as a European 'Intifada.'" (http://www.waynemadsenreport.com/)
Is Amanpour to be the new "El Cid," this time a modern female
version? El Cid and his army were famous for their use of psychological
tactics.
Meanwhile, in the U.S. Congress, fury is erupting. Following
attempted "Watergating" of George W. Bush, GOP Iman "El Rushbo" (Rush
Limbaugh) declared a counter-jihad to retaliate against Democrats. The
U.S. Justice Department will investigate "a possible leak of classified
information to The Washington Post for an article on a secret CIA
global prison system, a U.S. official said on Tuesday." ("CIA wants
Justice review of leaks on prison story," Reuters, Nov 8, 2005 — By
Vicki Allen and David Morgan)
Conspiracy Nation has no
super-duper secret source to whisper titillating details. The editor,
however, has purchased a crystal ball. Crystal Ball says, "Look for the
tables to be turned. The press itself will be 'Watergated.'"
