Third Fatima Secret: Cold War Returns

(Conspiracy Nation, 07/18/07) – In 1917, in Portugal, a vision of some sort was received by three children. Three secrets were revealed. The third secret was to have been released in 1960, but the Vatican stonewalled. The third secret is known as the Third Fatima Secret.

Supposedly, the Third Fatima Secret was unveiled on June 26, 2000. The Wikipedia reference (July 18, 2007, link above) notes that, in 1984, Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger (now Pope) stated the Third Secret would cause “sensationalism” and dealt with the “end times.”

Earlier, in 1980, in an interview, Pope John Paul II stated, “Because of the seriousness of its [Third Fatima Secret] contents, in order not to encourage the world wide power of Communism to carry out certain coups, my Predecessors in the Chair of Peter have diplomatically preferred to withhold its publication.” (http://www.marianland.com/thirdsec.html)

A secret 1962 Moscow-Vatican Pact reportedly stipulated that the Vatican was not to publicly condemn Communism. This was made known by the late Father Malachi Martin, in his book, The Jesuits. Here is the actual quote from Martin's book: “Still, there was that matter of the Moscow-Vatican Pact of 1962. And perhaps it was best to point out that even that 1962 pact was merely a renewal of an earlier agreement between the Holy See and Moscow. [There were] conversations held in 1942, in the reign of Pope Pius XII. It was in that year that Vatican Monsignore Giovanni Battista Montini, who himself later succeeded to the papacy as Paul VI, talked directly with Joseph Stalin's representative. Those talks were aimed at dimming Pius XII's constant fulminations against the Soviet dictator and Marxism.” (From chapter 3, “White Pope, Black Pope”)

“[I]n the late spring of 1962, a certain Eugene Cardinal Tisserant had been dispatched by Pope John XXIII to meet with a Russian prelate, one Metropolitan Nikodim, representing the Soviet Politburo of Premier Nikita Khrushchev.” An agreement was reached providing for “no condemnation of Soviet Communism or of Marxism, and that the Holy See would make it a rule for the future to obstain from all such official condemnation.” (Ibid.)

In the time frame of 1960-1962, with suppression of the Third Fatima Secret roughly coinciding with the Moscow-Vatican Pact (also known as the Metz Pact), the Vatican II Council gains new interest. Present at Vatican II were Giovanni Battista Montini (Paul VI), Albino Luciani (John Paul I), Karol Wojtyla (John Paul II), and Joseph Ratzinger (Benedict XVI). The first two Fatima Secrets had already been revealed. The first showed a vision of Hell. The second warned that although World War I would soon end, focus was placed upon Russia as being at a critical juncture in the road. Unless the “Holy Lady's” requests were heeded, Russia would “spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church.” But Vatican II roughly coincides with a decision to not make known the Third Fatima Secret, contrary to the wishes of the mysterious Lady.

Less than a year before the 1917 Fatima visions, in Russia, a key figure of spiritual importance, Grigori Rasputin, had been assassinated. Rasputin, known to be a gifted seer, foresaw his death. Mere weeks before being killed, Grigori Rasputin had written his own version of a Fatima Secret: “I wish to make known to the Russian people, to Papa, to the Russian Mother and to the Children, to the land of Russia, what they must understand. If I am killed by common assassins, and especially by my brothers the Russian peasants, you, Tsar of Russia, will have nothing to fear for your children, they will reign for hundreds of years in Russia. But if I am murdered by boyars, nobles, and if they shed my blood, their hands will remain soiled with my blood, for twenty-five years they will not wash their hands from my blood. They will leave Russia. Rasputin was killed by Prince Felip Yusupov and others, not by Russian peasants. The true horror of subsequent Bolshevism has never been adequately conveyed to most. A book published in 1999, The Black Book Of Communism, charges that “scholars have neglected the crimes committed by the Communists.” Communist “class genocide” is equated with the “race genocide” of Nazism, yielding in both cases “crimes against humanity.” But “[t]he Nazis, after all, never pretended to be virtuous. The Communists, by contrast, trumpeting their humanism, hoodwinked millions around the globe for decades, and so got away with murder on the ultimate scale.” In The Black Book Of Communism (Harvard University Press, 1999), it is estimated that 100 million persons were liquidated by various Communist regimes. Compare that figure with an estimated 6 million liquidated by the Nazis. More ominously, wonder about this: Why haven't we been adequately informed?

In the case of the Rasputin assassination, new evidence has surfaced pointing to British involvement. “British intelligence reports, between London and Saint Petersburg in 1916, indicate that the British were extremely concerned about Rasputin's displacement of pro-British ministers in the Russian government -- but, even more importantly, his apparent insistence on withdrawing Russian troops from World War I. This withdrawal would have allowed the Germans to move their Eastern Front troops over to the Western Front, which would mean a massive outnumbering of the Allies, spelling almost certain defeat.” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rasputin) Rasputin tried to get Russia out of a disastrous war. He was murdered for this reason, and Russia's World War I losses and demoralization increased. This paved the way for a later Bolshevik power grab. The horror and organized terror which followed is a true vision of Hell, as given in the First Fatima Secret.

The Black Book Of Communism explores how The Communist International, known as the Comintern, created in March 1919, was an instrument for international subversion. Like cockroaches, various Communists infiltrated foreign groups and bided their time. Would Vladimir Lenin and his ilk have been averse to infiltrating the Catholic hierarchy? It is reasonable to suppose infiltration of Roman Catholicism began in the 1920s. Rising slowly through the ranks, by 1960 Communism would have been sufficiently entrenched to help suppress the Third Fatima Secret.

British machinations played a role in the premature death of Grigori Rasputin which eventually led to Soviet totalitarianism. British-Russian rumblings are again being heard. Boris Berezovsky, exiled Russian tycoon and fierce critic of Vladimir Putin, “fled Britain three weeks ago on the advice of Scotland Yard, amid reports that he was the target of an assassination attempt by a suspected Russian hitman.” Russia refuses to extradite Andrei Lugovoy, who has been named as the prime suspect in the murder of Alexander Litvinenko. Worse than these rumblings is news that “The Cold War is back.” Writing in the British Spectator magazine, Fraser Nelson warns, “While Britain has been fixated with the Middle East and Iraq, it has paid insufficient attention to the increasingly aggressive noises emanating from the Kremlin. Mr Putin was never very enthusiastic about Russia becoming a part of the West — but now, flush with gas and oil revenues, he has left its orbit altogether. The Russian military is once again treating Nato as the glavny protivnik, the primary enemy, and drawing up plans for a nuclear war. In the midst of this Cold War resurgence, the hands of a possible counter-force, Pope Benedict XVI, seem to be still tied by the 1962 Moscow-Vatican Pact. However this Pope, born under the sign of Aries, is famed for hurling thunderbolts. Conspiracy Nation has previously speculated upon the possibility of a Third Thunderbolt: Papal condemnation of Communism. A report from National Public Radio, dated July 13, 2007, reveals that “The Vatican is preparing to beatify nearly 500 Spanish clergy killed during the [Spanish] civil war of the 1930s.” (“Vatican's Plan to Beatify Spanish Clergy Divisive,” by Jerome Socolovsky). This may be tantamount to the predicted Third Thunderbolt. The Pope is, in other words, preparing to elevate the status of 500 Spanish priests who were murdered by Communists. A counter-thunderbolt, dealing with incomprehensible priest sexual abuse of children, struck the Catholic dome earlier this week.
