Hopeless Elders Issue Dire Warning
(Conspiracy Nation, 09/14/07) – The Hopeless Elders (Hopi Elders) have issued a dire warning. They first broke their long silence in 1948. Civilizations rise and fall, and we could be next, they warned.
The Elders begged us to change our ways. Instead, we were fascinated by hula-hoops and slinkys. And now, “it may be too late.” (“Can planet earth still be saved?” by Jaime Licauco. Philippine Daily Inquirer, September 10, 2007. http://showbizandstyle.inquirer.net/lifestyle/lifestyle/view_article.php?article_id=87775)
Because the situation now appears hopeless, some are calling the Hopi Elders the “Hopeless Elders.” (See also, “Hopeless Earth Changes,” http://www.shout.net/~bigred/HopelessEarth.html)
It appears certain that a massive melt of ice in Greenland and Antarctica is underway. Something called “the Albedo Effect”, where melting ice exposes more land and water, thereby accelerating the melt, hastens the Earth Changes. Reportedly, we seem to be witnessing an “unstoppable cycle of feedback.” (“The Prophet Of Melt,” by Tom Clynes. Popular Science, August 2007)
Disagreed with is that carbon emissions are much to blame. The Conspiracy Elders feel most scientists, while accurate in measuring the meltdown, have been too hasty to attribute it to fossil fuel side-effects. Other factors are involved. (See “Hopeless Earth Changes,” op. cit.)
Rather tacky is how some politicians, such as Al Gore, have tried to convert a serious issue into a campaign strategy.
This however cannot be said about Leonardo DiCaprio, who has co-produced, co-written, and who narrates “The 11th Hour.” He is not seeking your vote nor is he pushing a personal political agenda. His film, apparently released today, reportedly “is a very effective examination not only of global warming, but of our dependence on foreign oil, the rape of the rain forests, political impotence in the face of oil money, and the general disintegration of our environment.” (http://ktar.com/?nid=111&sid=593004)
Stacey Lawson, commenting on DiCaprio's film, begins by quoting wise words from the Hopeless Elders: “We are the Ones We've been Waiting For. You have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour. Now you must go back and tell the people that this is The Hour.” (“In the 11th Hour, Let's ask the Deeper Questions Too”, http://www.huffingtonpost.com/stacey-lawson/in-the-11th-hour-lets-a_b_63164.html)
Repeat: “Now you must go back and tell the people that this is The Hour.” Hence, Hopeless Elders Issue Dire Warning.
The Elders advise, “And do not look outside yourself for the leader. We are the ones we've been waiting for.” Exactly. The pitiful so-called leaders are not worth following. We ourselves must realize that “we are the ones we've been waiting for.”
Can we de-compartment our minds? Today, we are in the “Friday compartment.” Stress is high. Paychecks are handed out. Last-minute shocking news is delivered. Tomorrrow, we are in the “Saturday compartment.” Where has yesterday's “shocking news” gone? Instead, tuning to NPR, we find it is “Only A Game.” What about the urgent crises? Never mind, just listen to “Car Talk.”
This compartmentalization of our minds was foreseen in 1969 by King Crimson. In “21st Century Schizoid Man,” the avante-garde band describes...
“Cats foot iron claw, Neuro-surgeons scream for more, At paranoia's poison door. Twenty first century schizoid man.”
“Nothing he's got he really needs, Twenty first century schizoid man.”
