Hsu's On First. What's On Second?

(Conspiracy Nation, 09/09/07) – Okay, we can forgo any vengeance about Johnny Chung. But we have selfish reasons. Norman Hsu was forced to leave California, because of this Sollozzo business. Arrangements have been made to bring Mr. Hsu back to California. Maybe he can clear up these charges. But we are superstitious. And if some unlucky accident should befall Mr. Hsu – if he is shot by a police officer, if he hangs himself in his jail cell, if he's struck by a bolt of lightning – then that we do not forgive. (Apologies to “The Godfather”).

Apparently, Mr. Hsu was working as a “bundler.” Individuals are limited to $2,700 in campaign contributions. So political campaigns look for bundlers: “people who can gather contributions from many individuals in an organization or community, and present the sum to the campaign,” according to Wikipedia. It sometimes seems to work like this. Say Fidel Castro wants to make a $1 million campaign contribution to Mr. Spotless, presidential candidate. Castro would not give the money directly to Spotless, but would give the $1 million to a bundler. The bundler would have a list of names which he would say all gave him $2,700 for the Mr. Spotless presidential campaign. Dividing $1 million by $2,700 would mean the bundler would have a list of 371 individual contributors to the Spotless campaign.

As nearly as can be worked out at this time, before Mr. Hsu is struck by lightning, is that one of Mr. Hsu's allegorical 371 individual contributors is the Paw family of Daly City, California. The family patriarch, William Paw, works as a mail carrier. The Paw family home was recently refinanced for $270,000. So the Paw family apparently are people of modest circumstances. However, according to the Washington Post, the Paw family has donated $45,000 to Senator Hillary Clinton, and $200,000 to Democrats overall, since 2005. The obvious implication is that the Paw's are intermediaries between some hidden contributor and various Democrats. But the Paw family might be totally innocent. Based upon other examples of the alleged Hsu modus operandi, the Paw's might have had their name picked at random by Hsu and listed falsely by him as contributors.

Allegorically, the flow of money would be like this: Fidel Castro $1 million --> Norman Hsu --> 371 (fictitious?) contributors --> Mr. Spotless campaign gets $1 million.

Seeing the name “Paw” in the Washington Post article (“Bundlers Behaving Badly,” p. A16, September 4, 2007), Conspiracy Nation wonders if a different “Pa” -- Pa Kettle – might also be listed on Hsu's list of individual contributors. Anyone who has seen the old Ma and Pa Kettle movies knows how Pa Kettle used to be seen in quiet conversation with certain Indians. There is also the suggestive name “Kettle,” as in Kettle of Cash.

It may happen that the MSM (Mainstream Media) will not focus on the Hsu story and its implications. This would change, however, if several bundlers were trapped in a coal mine. In that circumstance, MSM coverage would be 24/7. “Bundlers Trapped In Coal Mine! News at 10.”
