Lionheart Was Gay Crusader?
(Conspiracy Nation, 04/15/08) – There is a dispute as to whether or not King Richard I, “Richard the Lionheart”, was gay. He was the Crusader who fought to a truce against Saladin, the Saracen hero. This relates to widespread rumors that George W. Bush, the current Crusader king, is also gay.
The source usually used to support the gayness of Richard the Lionheart is Gerald, the Archdeacon of Wales: Young Richard “so honored Philip [Augustus] that by day they ate at one table, off one dish, and at night they slept in one bed. And the King of France [Philip] loved him as his own soul.” (qtd. in “Warriors of God” by James Reston, Jr. Anchor Books, 2001)
But Professor John Gillingham, a former history professor at the London School of Economics, counters that the above quote only “stems from an official record announcing that, as a symbol of unity between the two countries, the kings of France and England had slept the night in the same bed.” (“Richard I slept with French king 'but not gay'”, by Nicole Martin. London Telegraph, March 18, 2008)
The Crusade in which the forces of Richard battled the forces of Saladin is called the Third Crusade. The First Crusade, grand-daddy of them all, was launched by Pope Urban II in 1095 A.D. It resulted in the capture of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. A Kingdom of Jerusalem was established, which endured for 88 years, from 1099 to 1187 A.D. The Crusades have blown hot and cold over subsequent centuries, but they have never definitely ended. A new Crusader tactic was to establish a disguised Kingdom of Jerusalem in the last half of the 20th Century, under the mask of Zionism. To the Arabs, “the Jews are seen as the modern crusaders,” reveals Reston (op. cit.), “essentially European peoples who have invaded and occupied the Arab homeland.” How long will Israel last? As long as the previous Kingdom of Jerusalem? And what role does the Pope still play in all this? Reportedly, last month, al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden accused Pope Benedict XVI of being part of a "new crusade" against Islam. The Vatican rejected the accusation. It was only a week after the bizarre events of September 11, 2001 (9/11) when George W. Bush, like Pope Urban II before him, declared a new Crusade. "President Bush's reference to a 'crusade' against terrorism, which passed almost unnoticed by Americans, rang alarm bells in Europe. It raised fears that the terrorist attacks could spark a 'clash of civilizations' between Christians and Muslims, sowing fresh winds of hatred and mistrust." ("Europe cringes at Bush 'crusade' against terrorists", by Peter Ford. Christian Science Monitor, Sept. 19, 2001) The “Clash of Civilizations” theme is based upon a seminal work by Samuel P. Huntington, broached in the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) magazine in 1993. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clash_of_Civilizations)
The Crusades, begun many hundreds of years ago, never definitely ended. “The Huge Picture (bigger than the Big Picture) is the 'Clash of Civilizations' scheme,” wrote Conspiracy Nation in November of 2002. Consider the following Crusades timeline:
1386 A.D. -- Christian Serbs defeated at Battle of Kosovo.
1453 A.D. -- Constantinople falls to Ottoman Turks.
1571 A.D. -- Battle of Lepanto, Christians vs. Muslims.
1683 A.D. -- Ottoman army lays siege to Vienna.
1878 A.D. -- Serbs regain independence after 500 years of Ottoman rule.
1912 - 1913 A.D. -- Balkan Wars, frontiers of Ottoman Empire pushed back.
1990s -- New Balkan wars between Christians and Muslims in the former Yugoslavia.
2001 - 2002 A.D. -- "Clash of Civilizations." Christian-backed George W. Bush calls for a "crusade" against terrorists.

Might not George W. Bush be a reincarnation of Richard the Lionheart? A Google search dealing with the rumored Gayness of George W. Bush returns various links. “We at Baptists Are Saving Homosexuals have BASHed enough so-called 'gays' with the blunt love of Jesus to know how to spot deviants across a crowded sale at Saks,” reports one such link. They have found suspicious indications. (Note: This is not meant against gayness/lesbianism per se. “Is President Bush a Girly Man?” http://www.bettybowers.com/isbushgay.html ) If Dubya Bush is gay, and if Richard the Lionheart was gay, that marks an eerie parallel, among other parallels.
And if Dubya Bush is the Lionheart, then who is the reincarnated Saladin? Salah ad-Din, known as Saladin, is almost a god to the Saracens. Reston (op. cit.) describes this as “Allah, Muhammad, Saladin. God, Prophet, Liberator,” forming an almost Muslim version of the Trinity. Is Osama bin Laden the Saladin? Or does he still exist? Some say bin Laden died years ago. If so, who would be Saladin in this scenario?
Pope Benedict XVI arrives in America. He will be visiting “ground zero” of the surreal 9/11 events, in New York City. There, the Pope will reportedly pray for “redemption” of the “terrorists.” But suppose Benedict XVI is the reincarnation of Pope Urban II.
