Oldsters Troubled By Dreams
(Conspiracy Nation, 12/18/07) -- One thing which
happens when you are older is, waking in the wee hours, afraid to go
back to sleep. You have had another "visitation" from some deceased
relation, for example. He waits for you in "the beyond", and his
persistent dream visitations are creepy. So rather than return to
creepy-land, you have some coffee and prowl the Internet news sites.
One explanation for such creepy visitations in dreamland originates
with primitive tribes. "Taboo" is a Polynesian word. According to
Sigmund Freud, the word is originally connected to the wrath of demons.
Immediately after death, the beloved family member becomes a demon,
from whom the survivors have nothing but hostility to expect. They fear
the presence and return of the spirit of a dead person, and practice a
host of rituals to ward him off. The departed spirit envies the living
and longs for the company of its former kin; it seeks to kill them in
order to be re-united with them. (Freud, Sigmund. Totem and Taboo)
The theme of not-so-departed spirits is also covered by Daniel J. Wood
in a well-researched article in the Dec. 2007 Fate magazine. According
to Wood, "William of Newburgh's Historia
rerum anglicarum, written in the late 12th century, remains the
best source for English bloodsuckers and other revenants." William of
Newburgh warns, "It would not be easy to believe that the corpses of
the dead should sally (I know not by what agency) from their graves,
and should wander about to the terror or the destruction of the living,
and again return to the tomb... did not frequent examples, occuring in
our own times, suffice to establish this fact, to the truth of which
there is abundant testimony..." ("Vampires and Disease," by Daniel J.
Wood. Fate magazine, Dec. 2007)
In the Conspiracy Nation
editor's experience, the departed creepy kin uses the agency of dreams
for his visitations. The visitations from El Creepo also coincide with
general "bad vibes" in the atmosphere. The psychic atmosphere on
Mondays is generally sludgey. But paradoxically, news manifestations do
not typically occur: people wear masks, in a sense, as do primitive
tribes. Beneath the surface, the gods demand fresh human sacrifices.
All wear masks to hide from being chosen as "the sacrifice." On
Wednesday, Dec. 5th, Robert A. Hawkins erupted like a pimple on the
body politic. Hawkins allegedly went on a shooting rampage at an Omaha
shopping mall. Hawkins qualifies as both sacrificer and sacrificed. But
that was two weeks ago. The gods, these days, demand continuous human
sacrifices, as also portrayed in the Mel Gibson film, "Apocalypto."
Better keep that mask glued on tight, baby. Who will be next??
So the "human sacrifice" in some form will occur, then America will
move into its "happy compartment" on Saturday. Tensions should ease
down next week, with Congress persons gone from mischief-making in
Washington, DC, and a "happy holidays compartment" prevalent. At some
familial gatherings, dirty tricks will be done on some family members
-- all with a charming smile. But that is just the usual rottenness,
nothing dramatic. This week, though, be cautious. The Conspiracy Nation editor has
received, hours ago, another creepy dream visitation. That is usually a
bad omen.
