Sparky Flintstone Battles “Gangstas”

(Conspiracy Nation, 03/04/08) – You've seen them on your rambles about town: black youths dressed in baggy trousers with their underwear hanging out. This fashion indicates they are fans of the “gangstas,” mighty tough hombres. But Sparky Flintstone now says those who make the “hip hop” so-called music which all “gangstas” adore are “insecure cowards” who feed their “poison” to unsuspecting youth. In an otherwise slow news day, this Sparky Flintstone item is about the most interesting thing to report. For the past several months the “news” has been dominated by presidential candidates and their antics. This has tended to drown out real news, making it harder for conspiracy theorists to get a foothold.

Fishing through the wading pool of reports, another notable item is an article by Paul Kramer in the Feb. 25, 2008 New Yorker magazine. In “The Water Cure,” Kramer unearths the use of torture by American troops in the Philippines circa 1900-1902. In 1899 a second front in the war against Spain had erupted after a U.S. soldier shot at Filipino soldiers outside Manila. “Within the first year of the war, news of atrocities by U.S. forces – the torching of villages, the killing of prisoners – began to appear in American newspapers.” A “water cure” torture technique began to be used, eerily reminiscent of current “water-boarding” tortures. One other noteworthy item is found in the latest issue (March 2008) of Fate magazine. In January of this year, UFOs were widely reported to have been spotted near Stephenville, Texas. Don Ledger points out that this UFO flap occurred near the restricted area of Dubya Bush's Crawford, Texas ranch. Dubya was not present at the time. But USAF F-16s may have been scrambled to interdict the unidentified aerial phenomena. This UFO flap incidentally is yet another example of how “science” buries its head in the sand by refusing to seriously investigate.
