(Melchizedek Communique, MC012410) A new carbon-based monetary system is emerging, right before our eyes. "Never before has the United Nations presided over the issuing of securities..." The carbon offset futures are "unlike any securities ever created..." (Background: http://www.shout.net/~bigred/mc012310.html)
Someone, somewhere, is putting trees in the microwave. The United Nations certifies they have produced carbon reduction. This permits a credit to them of $1 million, "carbon offset." In other words, this is $1 million backed by carbon! It is "carbon money", guaranteed by the United Nations.
Some major investors in the offset futures are JP Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Cantor Fitzgerald, and Cargill. They are obviously betting on a bright "future" in carbon offsets. [1]
"India Inc. is betting heavily on carbon money. Carbon here refers to credits (one carbon credit is equal to one tonne of CO2) that companies can earn by reducing emissions of greenhouse gases and selling them to those who need it, especially developed countries." [2]
But Mr. Squirrel is uneasy about the carbon futures. First there was the problem of, "The future ain't what it used to be." Minas Gerais, for example, saw their "future" with "clean charcoal" and eucalyptus logs decline when demand for pig-iron plummeted. [3]
And now, Mr. Squirrel has become further alarmed by the "Glaciergate" scandal. Dr. Rajendra Pachauri had been saying the probability of Himalayan glaciers "disappearing by the year 2035 and perhaps sooner is very high". But then, it was revealed the prediction was "poorly substantiated". [4] The United Nation's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), "led by its increasingly controversial chairman, Dr Rajendra Pachauri, was forced to issue an unprecedented admission: the statement in its 2007 report that Himalayan glaciers could disappear by 2035 had no scientific basis, and its inclusion in the report reflected a 'poor application' of IPCC procedures." [5]
"To understand why the future of Himalayan glaciers should arouse such peculiar passion, one must recall why they have long been a central icon in global warming campaigners' propaganda. Everything that polar bears have been to the West, the ice of the Himalayas has been – and more – to the East." [5]
So Mr. Squirrel is agitated now about India, Inc. having bet heavily on carbon money. He was last seen doing daredevil stunts in front of oncoming traffic.
This sub-rosa emergence of international carbon money also explains the push for centralized health care in the United States. Gradually, people will be changed into carbon money. One day, you will go to the doctor and he or she will give a negative prognosis. "I'm sorry, Mr. Jones, but your condition is inoperable. I am going to write a prescription for you, however." The prescription will be in Latin. You will go to the pharmacist and he or she will read, "Reduce carbon footprint." Unknown to you, the "medicine" given to you will be hemlock. Congratulations! You have been transformed into a carbon offset! Instead of "you" there now is fresh money, backed by carbon reduction and certified by the United Nations.
But now, with first the "Climategate" [6] and now the "Glaciergate", the carbon futures certified by the United Nations are not looking so good. Underneath the scandals is the failure of the Copenhagen Climate Summit. And where does NASA fit in? As of December 3, 2009, a U.S. researcher was poised to sue NASA, demanding release of the same kind of climate data that has landed a leading British center in hot water over charges it skewed its data.
