(Melchizedek Communique, MC012509) Lots of cement will be involved in construction projects favored by the Barack Obama economic stimulus. Highways and bridges, for instance, need lots of cement.
Ray LaHood, congressman from Peoria, Illinois, "has been smoothly installed as secretary of transportation in the reform administration of President Barack Obama." [1]
LaHood will play a role in who gets the stimulus money. But who decides where to buy the cement?
In the 1990s, Sherman H. Skolnick stated that Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley was one of two owners of "Glenrock Company (Northlake, Illinois, Brookfield, Wisconsin, and Indianapolis, Indiana)." Skolnick further alleged, "Whether democrat or republican, state contractors in Wisconsin, Indiana, and Illinois know they have to buy their supplies from Glenrock, such as -- tens of millions of dollars of curing compounds for pouring cement and wire mesh for state highways; materials for parking lots, airport runways, bridges and buildings; such as sealants for windows, joints, masonry and other construction; waterproofing and weatherproofing for a long list of construction applications." [2]
In a later report, Skolnick repeated the allegations: "If you want a federally-financed State highway deal, in the three-state area -- well, you reportedly have to give kick-backs and buy your cement paving compounds through the Daley family's Glenrock Company." [3]
It is not known at press time who now owns the Glenrock Company, or whether the company still exists. Sherman Skolnick passed away in 2006 and could not be questioned.
The Ray LaHood transportation secretary appointment has slipped in under the radar, suggests Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass, due to attention being focused elsewhere, on the coup d'etat underway against Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. [1]
Mayor Daley, Michael Madigan, Patrick Fitzgerald, William Cellini: In Illinois, these are all honorable men. "For Brutus is an honorable man; so are they all, all honorable men." [4]
