(Melchizedek Communique, MC021410) On Thursday, February 11, 2010, the Kansas Senate approved a resolution calling on the federal government to "cease and desist" from passing onerous mandates on the states. [1] On the same day the new Lincoln penny premiered and one day before the 201st anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth, "Bleeding Kansas" re-emerged.
Bleeding Kansas, Bloody Kansas or the Border War, was a series of violent events, involving anti-slavery Free-Staters and pro-slavery "Border Ruffian" elements, that took place in the Kansas Territory and the western frontier towns of the U.S. state of Missouri roughly between 1854 and 1858. [2]
Like the Spanish Civil War, prelude to World War II, Bleeding Kansas was the prelude to the American Civil War.
"The election of [Barack] Obama was not an accident," stated former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev. [3] Gorbachev presided over the disintegration of the Soviet Union, consequent to its own war in Afghanistan. The symbolism of the death of Charles Wilson these past few days is not lost on this editor. (Wilson, a former congressperson, championed the cause of the Afghan resistance to Soviet occupation.)
Barack Obama is the anti-Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln struggled to preserve the Union. President Obama's job is to preside over its disintegration.
There is much "secesh talk" heard lately, as if the Union is our problem. In fact, as explained in a recent book, "What Would Millard Do?" (available from lulu.com), secessionist plots from the Millard Fillmore times (circa 1850s) originated in Europe. British and French bankers conspired to divide and weaken the adolescent American Union. Europe had (and still has) imperialist designs on the North American continent. John Brown was under the control of European interests: he was one of their agents provocateur. (See book, "What Would Millard Do?", for details.)
Giuseppe Mazzini, leader of Italian Grand Orient Freemasonry, sent lieutenant Adriano Lemmi and the Hungarian Masonic Magyar, Louis Kossuth, to the U.S. where they organized "Young America" lodges. "John Brown had joined Mazzini's Young America during the [Franklin] Pierce administration, and was supported financially by the John Jacob Astor Masonic interest in Boston and New York. After receiving instructions from Caleb Cushing, John Brown deliberately set out to instigate civil war in America." [4]
During the Bleeding Kansas "dress rehearsal" for the Civil War, John Brown and his bloody gang were responsible for "The Pottawatomie Massacre." Unarmed men had their skulls cleaved by broadswords. Brown was never called to answer for this particular crime. [4]
Bleeding Kansas was also the practice run for William Quantrill. See the movie, "Ride With the Devil," for background.
It is with trepidation that Melchizedek Communique notices the economic parallel of James Buchanan-era financial woes accompanied by bitter polarization, and our own times now punctuated by the Kansas Senate.
