Apologies if link has expired.(Melchizedek Communique, MC030110) A huge bestseller in Italy, Vaticano Spa (meaning Vatican, Ltd.), is strangely ignored there by Italy's mass media, reports Roberto Mancini in Britain's Guardian newspaper. [1] Could the news blackout have something to do with Italy's "il duce", Silvio Berlusconi, a former member of the notorious P2 masonic lodge?

Berlusconi has enormous control over Italy's mass media. The Vatican seems to have become "a pro-Berlusconi political party." Vaticano Spa has become "a pawn in the gang war in the Curia." [1]

Vaticano Spa reportedly updates the Vatican Bank scandals of the 1980s. Archbishop Paul Casimir Marcinkus, of Cicero, Illinois (image shown, with Pope John Paul II), had headed the Vatican Bank from 1971 through 1989. "Hey, you can't run the Church on Hail Marys," he tried to explain. "In July 1982, Marcinkus was implicated in financial scandals being reported on the front pages of newspapers and magazines throughout Europe, particularly the collapse of the Banco Ambrosiano, in which Propaganda Due (aka 'P2'), a masonic lodge, was involved." Marcinkus, nicknamed "The Gorilla," "was also involved with Michele Sindona, who had links with the Mafia." [2]

The Mafia/Vatican connection was explored in the movie, "The Godfather, Part III." That film, like Vaticano Spa, has been strangely ignored.

When Banco Ambrosiano collapsed, its chairman, Roberto Calvi (nicknamed "God's Banker"), fled Italy on a false passport. "At 7:30 AM on Friday 18 June 1982 a passing postman found his body hanging from scaffolding beneath Blackfriars Bridge in the financial district of London. Calvi's clothing was stuffed with building bricks, and he was carrying around $15,000 of cash in three different currencies." [3]

Calvi's death allegedly involved the Vatican Bank, the Mafia, and the P2 Masonic lodge. [3] P2 operated under the jurisdiction of the Grand Orient of Italy from 1945 to 1976, and continued to secretly function thereafter in defiance of Italian law. Among its members was (or is) Silvio Berlusconi, currently Italy's Prime Minister. [4]

"We thought that Karol Wojtyla (Pope John Paul II), as he had promised, would have sorted out the Vatican finances after the scandal of Cardinal Marcinkus and the IOR (the Pope's bank)," stated Gianluigi Nuzzi, author of Vaticano Spa. Instead, according to Nuzzi, shady deals and dishonesty have increased. [1]

In related news, it has been alleged that one Emanuela Orlandi had been seized and killed on the orders of Archbishop Paul Marcinkus. Orlandi, the daughter of a Vatican employee, was 15 years old when she disappeared after a flute lesson in central Rome. She was last seen at a bus stop on her way home on June 22, 1983. She was reportedly put in a sack and thrown into a cement mixer. [5]
