(Melchizedek Communique, MC031110) That the "smoke of Satan" has entered the Vatican is not some anti-cigarette smoking campaign. The Vatican's chief exorcist has used the phrase lately, reports today's Times of London newspaper. Father Gabriele Amorth is quoted as saying, "When one speaks of 'the smoke of Satan' [a phrase coined by Pope Paul VI in 1972] in the holy rooms, it is all true – including these latest stories of violence and paedophilia." Giovanni Battista Montini (Pope Paul VI) may have been silenced by being kept drugged in the Vatican while an actor played his role publicly, according to some conservative Catholics. In 1972, Montini had erupted in a homily expressing fears of satanic infiltration of the Church. "It is as if some mysterious crack, no, it is not mysterious, from some crack the smoke of Satan has entered the temple of God," he cried.

Was the "smoke of Satan" caused by Angelo Roncalli, Pope John XXIII, who, before his death on June 3rd, 1963, had pushed forward an ecumenical council, known as Vatican II? Roncalli had reiterated the bold encyclical pronouncements given by Pope Leo XIII in Rerum Novarum. "Man has the right to live. He has the right to bodily integrity and to the means necessary for the proper development of life, particularly food, clothing, shelter, medical care, rest, and, finally, the necessary social services," were among his statements. But some thought it was really Communism in disguise.

Author Paul L. Williams reportedly traces the "smoke of Satan" to 1929 and the signing of the Lateran Treaty, in which a financially besieged Pope Pius XI exchanged recognition and support of Benito Mussolini's Fascist government for more than $90 million and the establishment of the Vatican as a sovereign state. This began a chain of events such as morally questionable financial arrangements with Adolf Hitler, the fascist state of Croatia and reputed Sicilian Mafia financier Michele Sindona. [2]

Currently, a huge bestseller in Italy, Vaticano Spa (meaning Vatican, Ltd.), is strangely ignored there by Italy's mass media. Silvio Berlusconi, Italy's Prime Minister, has enormous control over Italy's news outlets. The Vatican seems to have become "a pro-Berlusconi political party." Vaticano Spa reportedly updates the Vatican Bank scandals of the 1980s, which involved, among others, the abovementioned Michele Sindona. But the "smoke of Satan" may have entered the Vatican right at the beginning, when James the Just, brother of Jesus, was murdered. Something called The Pseudo-Clementines, dated by some to the end of the first century, describes "the enemy" having earlier attacked James. James the Just was thrown from the Temple steps by "the enemy", in the description. And "the enemy" turns out to have been Saul/Paul, otherwise known as "St. Paul." [3]

The (Second) Apocalypse of James, part of the Nag Hammadi codices, provides this description of the murder of James the Just:

"And they were there and found him standing beside the columns of the temple beside the mighty corner stone. And they decided to throw him down from the height, and they cast him down. They seized him and [struck] him as they dragged him upon the ground. They stretched him out, and placed a stone on his abdomen. They all placed their feet on him, saying, 'You have erred!'"

"The enemy" (St. Paul?) went on to provide the basis for a Hellenized then Romanized version of Christianity, where Jesus is changed from a swarthy semite with wooly hair into a 6 foot tall, blonde, blue-eyed "God." "Smoke of Satan" Enters Illinois

And at what point did the "smoke of Satan" enter Illinois? There is big trouble in Illinois. Yesterday, Governor Pat Quinn unveiled his plan for dealing with a massive budget deficit. Unlike the Washington, DC government, Illinois cannot just print money to solve bankruptcy. (If you did that, they would call it counterfeiting.) Quinn wants to borrow money, raise the state income tax, and drastically cut spending. There are looming "austerity measures" in Illinois, reports the World Socialist Web Site. The official Illinois unemployment rate is 11.1 percent, but the true rate is higher. Property foreclosures have jumped 25 percent in the past year. "No significant media or political attention has been paid to the negligent role played by Congress and the Obama administration in refusing to send crucial federal funds to the state of Illinois." [4] They can bail out Wall Street, but Illinois (apparently) is not "too big to fail."
