Image: Richard J. Daley, former Chicago mayor (1955 - 1976). Apologies if link has expired.(Melchizedek Communique, MC041009) Richard J. Daley, "Da Mare" (the mayor) of Chicago from 1955 until his sudden death in 1976, believed in being pragmatic. Regarding organized crime in Chicago, Daley said, "Well, it's there, and you know you can't get rid of it, so you have to live with it." [1]

It is not known if his son, Richard M. Daley, also "Da Mare", has a similar opinion.

In 1953, James Weinberg and Paul "Needle Nose" Labriola were discussing how to "muscle in" on the Chicago Restaurant Association. A lawyer, Abraham Teitelbaum, was an obstacle. "We'll have to kill Teitelbaum," said Weinberg, "but we don't want a big uproar in the papers. We'll push him out of his office window." [2]

But Joe Morris, chief investigator then of a super-secret intelligence unit of the Chicago police known as "Scotland Yard", was listening in on a hidden microphone. He assigned bodyguards to Teitelbaum. Later, Labriola and Weinberg were found drugged and strangled in the trunk of an abandoned car. [2]

Then, during Richard J. Daley's mayoral campaign in 1955, Morris was caught trying to bug the hotel room of a suspect connected with Daley and the Chicago "machine". Would "Scotland Yard" be an obstacle to Daley's pragmatic administration? Not long after Daley's election, Chicago's "Scotland Yard" was disbanded. [2]

Joe Valachi, a member of "La Cosa Nostra" turned witness against his former associates, was frustrated by incredulity. "Nobody will listen. Nobody will believe," he stated. "You know what I mean? This Cosa Nostra, it's like a second government. It's too big." [3]

The very idea! That there could be an invisible "second government", a "shadow government"! Why you would be entering "conspiracy theorist" territory, the known realm of kooks!

It would be as if you were saying a rogue faction of CIA, in defiance of the Boland Amendment, continued to ship weapons to the Nicaraguan "Contras"! Then the kooks would be sitting on the grassy knoll saying the weapons were financed by laundered drug money! And how could you sit back and enjoy "Dancing With The Stars" when you had such ideas in your head!?

So entertaining such ideas is not pragmatic to watching "Dancing With The Stars."

In latest "Dancing With The Stars" news, one of the dancing stars is stalked by a fan who claims to communicate with her by ESP, reports The Globe, a weekly tabloid newspaper. The alleged stalker is a "spooky loner" reports Globe. [4]

It is thought by Melchizedek Communique that George W. Bush must have been drinking Jim Beam whisky and watching "Dancing With The Stars" when he reportedly made a late night phone call to former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Dubya Bush must have felt the lack of a dancing partner when he reportedly begged Condi Rice, "Help me! I need you." Laura Bush, wife of Dubya, is said to be separated from the "plain-folks" Dubya: she lives in Dallas and he lives in Crawford, Texas. Laura is said to be writing a tell-all book and Dubya may be apprehensive. [5]

A tornado which hit Mena, Arkansas last night may symbolize upheaval affecting Hillary Clinton, the new Secretary of State. It was through a Mena, Arkansas airport that weapons went out and drugs came in while Bill Clinton was Governor of that state. (Background: Compromised: Bush, Clinton, and the CIA, by Terry Reed and John Cummings.) A movie, "Special Relationship", to be an HBO special, is underway. It reportedly deals with the Monica Lewinsky mess, and Hillary is said to fear the embarrassment. Globe reports Ms. Clinton had promised President Barack Obama she would be divorcing Lothario Bill. This reportedly was a pre-condition for her being Secretary of State. A secret source confides to Globe, "You can bet, Obama is not going to be happy with this whole movie thing." [6]

To ease the stress and worries of office, President Barack Obama must eagerly await the next episode of "Dancing With The Stars". Never mind about serious news. What has that got to do with "Dancing With The Stars"?
