May Day Rallies Report

Monday's rallies were very successful.
The "May Day for Health Care" rally on the U of I quad and the immigration rally at Tim Johnson's office in support of immigration reform and labor rights were well-attended (150 and 300) and received good press coverage (WILL, News-Gazette, Channel 15, among others.) The WILL piece had a response from the University to GEO/IFT and IATSE's health care demands: "We look forward to addressing these concerns in the context of our budget constraints."
