Solidarity with SEIU

At the General Membership Meeting, Wednesday, September 26, by unanimous vote of all members present, the GEO crafted a formal statement of support for the local chapter of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), who represents the Building Service Workers and Food Service Workers on campus. They are currently in mediation with the University. The endorsed statement reads as follows:

“We in the GEO support the members of SEIU and we encourage our members not to cross any SEIU picket line.”

If SEIU is forced by the University's actions to go on strike, we urge all those teaching on campus to look for alternative venues to hold your classes. If you need a place to hold your class or you want to help us find alternatives, contact the GEO office.
