Welcome to the "BEST" GIjOE collection of

I can't really remember a time when I wasn't into GIjOE...

I'm a child of the 80s, and the "Real American Hero" era was all the rage. This, combined with my father's service in the wild world of Army Aviation is probably the reason I have such an interest in military-themed toys and GIjOE in particular.

My own collection was born from a nostalgic need to replace my little 3 3/4" Joes. One by one, my collection of classic and modern 3 3/4" Joes had grown to the point where more were stored in boxes in the corner of my "I Love Me" room than there were on display. As an Army officer, I can get orders to move anywhere at a moment's notice, which is why I prefer to rent, and why my collection doesn't have a more elaborate or permanent shelf-designed layout. I have a comparatively small collection, but it's growing, and it's growing fast!

As a kid, I had a few Hall of Fame Joes, but my first classic-style GIjOE was a Masterpiece Edition Action Soldier, originally meant as a novelty to complement my 3 3/4" collection. From there on, I was hooked and slowly started building a collection of 12" Joes ranging from vintage, classic style reproductions, and a few modern Joes.

I've picked up a lot more gear and accessories than I have Joes to wear it all, which has lead to some interesting customizations and kitbashes. One of which, originally meant to be a sort of "Mini-Me" has gone on to star in "LT & Gunny" photo stories self-published on The Trenches forum and, along with his co-star, are currently guest-starring in Mark Otnes' year-long epic "A Joe a Day" hosted by Patches of Pride (which is actually where LT's patches are from).

I hope you enjoy the photos of my collection!

It's "Blackhawk UP" as Edgar's mini-Joes rappel down to ACTION! Hoo-ah!

Vintage, modern, repro. It doesn't matter as long as they're the BEST!

Edgar's collection of Joes started with the little guys...and they ROCK!

Great books, great figures. GO ARMY!

LEFT- Edgar's Littlebird carries some "Nightstalkers" of the 160th into action. RIGHT- Texas A&M Corps of Cadets figure. GIG'EM, AGGIES!

Fantastic kitbashed Superman. Up, up, and AWAY!!!!

"Look, it's my breaktime, all right?"

Edgar's 1/6th scale motor pool continues to grow with this excellent Humvee by 21stC and the SOTW Jeep. Sweet!

Another exciting kitbash. This one represents a Special Forces soldier in Afghanistan. Beard growth is common among these super soldiers!

Here's a frame from the serial "A Joe a Day" starring Edgar's LT and Gunny figures.
