Welcome
to the amazing Action Man and AT GIjOE collection of

I was born in the UK. I received
my first Action Man back in 1966; a Combat Soldier. As you probably
know, these were direct copies of the American GIjOE's lineup
up until 1970, when Action Man came into his own.
I continued to play with
AM as I moved from England to Scotland, and even to Malaysia.
One day, I must have been going on about 13, I suddenly realized
I was still playing with a toy, and disgusted, just threw them
all away!
In the mid 1990s, I found a book on Action Man on a visit back
to London, and my interest was rekindled. I recalled all the
great times I had playing with AM as a boy. Not long after that,
the HOF LE came out, followed by the Classic Collection, and
I was off to the races.
Unfortunately, these were
unsatisfactory to actually play with, so I started looking around
for vintage GIjOEs, which I figured would do until I could get
my hands on some Action Men. Well, I really enjoyed the AT Joes
I found, and soon amassed quite a collection. Then I found eBay,
and the rest is history! I don't know how many AM I now have
now, over 200 for sure, but who's counting?
I like to travel with my AM, and take pics of them all over
the world. I use what is known as "forced perspective"
to create a lifesize feel to them in some instances. As an artist
& educator I use this both as a source of income, and to
illustrate to my high school students that you can be childlike,
without being childish. I hope you enjoy my pics, I certainly
enjoy taking them! --HH

Stunning Queen's Guard on horseback, and closeups of some of
the different heads in HH's collection.

Two suspicious looking spy Joes looking for the KGB, somewhere
near the Tokyo Buddha, and an officer on horseback.

The A-Team checks their maps on the MSV before heading out on
a mission...

The war's over for you, Fritz! (Hmm...What's that weird Joe "wall"
behind these guys?)

Great shot of a Joe being questioned at a checkpoint. "Your
papers, sir?"

Long hair Joe (w/ REAL hair!) checks out the Louvre pyramid in
Paris and the Aericibo Radio Telescope in Puerto Rico.

Three AM arctic explorers pause for a picture, while the Chief
and his top warrior charge quickly out of camp!

Great shot of AM Joe, somewhere in the Arizona? desert. Wassamatta
Joe? You lost? ;-)

Cool shot of European AM motorcycles and their owners.

Cool water shot. Nice colors, textures, etc. Great job, HH!

Secret mission strike team working their way inland towards their
objective.

Vintage equipment never looked better than on these guys. WOW!

Back at headquarters, the Adventure Team waits for orders concerning
their next mission...

Great example of the "forced perspective" HH mentioned
earlier. Fantastic photo!

Finally, a colorful, posterized homage to Andy Warhol, created
by HH. Great job. Stunning!
