I had best introduce the team.

I am a member of a select group (!) of 1/6th scale modeling enthusiasts. I am not 100% sure what I bring to the team other than a few grotty jokes and some dodgy photos.

The majority of the ground work is carried out by Peter Shaw, our site host and model maker extraordinary, and Vince Abbott, Hr Direcktor. Vince is a supreme detail modeler and a professional engineer.

Between Peter and Vince we are never short of ideas or instructions! Another key part of the team is Tim Catton. He is also a detail supremo. Both Tim and Vince manufacture 1/6th scale parts. Also part of the team are Mark "no smoke" Winter, and Hugh "no bacon rolls" Abbott, Vince's dad. Not to be missed out are Paul Richardson, master figure poseur, and our most recent member, John Besant. Our team has a name - Kampfgruppe VonAbt - which you will see more of in the future.

My website is www.tiger1.co.uk which is dedicated to 1/6th scale Armortek models of WW2 vehicles and sixth scale dioramas. One sixth scale gives almost limitless opportunities for detail modeling. I hope you enjoy looking at the results of our diorama days, as much as we do getting muddy and playing with toys!

I started my website when I first discovered Armortek 1/6th scale models. As a kid I had always wanted a remote control tank, but they cost too much. Now as a adult the god of joy has afforded me the opportunity to have the toys I want. 3 Armortek models purchased, as of March 2006, none built. I have been drawn away from the models into a range of interests. My library of books on WW2 Axis tanks, the Tiger mainly, the war on the Eastern Front, biographies, etc etc., has grown like topsy.

Whilst buying the Armortek tank - a process that took months and months until Geotek took over the company and transformed it - I met more and more people with the same interest. This started at Peter Shaw's tank proving ground, which is in a very pleasant part of the South of England. These meeting are held regularly, quite often they are UK Tank Club outings. Amongst the regular attendees are Peter, Vince, his dad Hugh, Tim and Hugo, myself, Mark, John B and Paul. Since September last year these guys and myself have enjoyed regularly get together's at Peter's, building more and more complex dioramas.

Stunning Detail on these motorcycles!

Look at how they captured MOVING liquid by creating a hard, wax-like substitute. Fantastic!

Great posing captures the action of the moment as this tank crew cleans out the barrel.

OK...how many Wehrmacht guys did you say you needed? Whoa!

Amazing hand-crafted 1/6th scale bunker just dug in. Check out the little door covered with a flap that leads further underground, and the shelves with helmets waiting.

Here the foxhole has been loaded with the appropriate figures and an anti-aircraft weapon.

Here the group discusses their latest effort. Amazing work guys. And check out the 1/6th scale telephone poles. Wow!

Completely believable images. That giant mortar has fireworks inside creating an amazing effect.

Yes, this is a 1/6th scale TRAIN! Check out the Dragon figure for scale. Stunning work!z

Again, a good photo tells a story, and these guys are working hard to free this tank from the mud. Look on the left--there's even a propaganda photographer taking shots with a movie camera!

Who'd like a 1/6th scale Opel Blitz troop truck? Anybody? Hmm?

The figure posing is amazing. And no one's falling down either. Do they have hidden wire supports?

Again, look at the posing. The figures are LEANING forward as they should be when climbing over the tracks. Fantastic job guys. We in the U.S. salute you!
