I am glad to attend this club here and special thanks to Mark at Patches of Pride to link me to the website! I am an action figure fan from China. My first action figure was given to me by my dear mom when I was 3 and I remember the figure was a 1/6 beautiful girl with red dress and long hair. When I grow up I get interested in military and war movies and started to search for action heroes. Every time I got to shopping malls I would go to the toy shelves directly and try to get one, mostly are JOE 1:18 figures at that time. In the late 1990s, 1/6 figures became popular in China and model shops began to sell them like JOE, DRAGON, BBI and so on. I started the 1/6 collection then and mostly military related. I really enjoyed a nice time with my "soldiers". After study or work, they gave me relax and I often take them outside to take photos to make them more real looking. I also attended famous BBS like OSW, BOY-TOY and BBICN in China, went to some figure shows in mainland and Hong Kong getting many info about figure trend, held several activities with figure fans. I also designed and built the show shelf with my beloved dad to offer the figures a comfortable space to live in. :) I will keep this hobby because it gives much fan and a good opportunity to know people with the same hobby!
