Greetings from the Philippines!

Just call me "Rainman" (that's me in the photo above, sitting down). I represent a loose group of GIjOE fans and collectors in the Manila area known as the Manila GIjOE Collector's Club. On this page, you'll find photos of much of my personal collection, plus items from other members in our club. Our collections have even appeared in a museum (scroll down for images)! After all, who says a poor man can't own rare GIjOEs? Most of our collections consist of original, VINTAGE 1960s-70s pieces. A few of them may be "improvised," and some use custom or new Hasbro parts, but all of them are definitely the "real deal."

Of course, collectors occasionally find it necessary to "assemble" figures from other sources. For example, my own tan Airborne MP (2nd figure from left) is almost totally original EXCEPT that he carries a knockoff billy club and wears a Cotswold patch and armband. His uniform is vintage and stamped "Hasbro JAPAN," but I bleached it from it's original brown color to the tan you see here. In addition, the helmet came from a '96 Hasbro MP and his dickie, pistol and radio are all vintage Action Man gear. I think he looks great.

Similarly, to "assemble" my AA MP (above, far left), I used a '96 AA ME Joe, an original vintage uniform, a Cotswold dickie and another k.o. billy club. And my talking "Astro Dude" (above, 4th from left) has original yellow Hasbro boots, vintage suit, and (this is where it gets interesting) a rare bubble helmet hand-customized from an ATC neck ring and a baby's rattle toy! To me, it seems a bit oversized, but it's still better than nothing (or paying $125 for an original). And my Action Joe Race Car Driver (above, far right)? Well, sorry! But he's ALL original. I bought him for only a fraction of the going price. I hope you enjoy viewing these pictures of my collection. Please let me know if you have any questions. We're only half-way around the world! ;-)
