You may already know me online as "AirAdventurer74..."

But my real name is Rene and I currently live in northern Virginia with my wife and 2 kids, ages 8 and 4.

I originally had a "loaner" PH Ski Patrol and Freefall GIjOE waaaay back in the 1960s in Kabul, Afghanistan.

I obtained my own Air Adventurer in 1973, along with the Jungle Survival, Missile Recovery, Radiation Detection, Secret Agent, Desert Survival uniforms and a really nice Palitoy French Resistance Fighter uniform and weapons set.

My original Air Adventurer saw intrigue and adventure in Maryland, Lebanon, and even Saudi Arabia! But, eventually his flocked beard started to fall out and I shaved him, creating several nicks that gave him a "Bizarro Adventurer" look. I ended up giving him to the kid brother of a friend back in 1975.

I started collecting again in earnest back about 1999/2000 - focusing on WWII-themed 21st Century figures and WWII GIjOEs. At some point around 2001-2002, I discovered the amazing world of Timeless, ME, and Club Joes and focused on amassing those new lines.

As the Timeless and 40th Joes came and went, I've moved into 40th and vintage Action Man, WalMart AT, and until recently, whatever AT figures the national GIjOE Club deemed to produce. Nowadays, I only collect repro and vintage Joes. My collection currently consists of about five 21st and Hasbro CC figures and over 100 vintage and repro GIjOEs. Yes, all is right and well in my 1:6th world!

My favorite figure is the basic club Air Adventurer in his orange jumpsuit as well as an Air Adventurer in an AM Adventurer uniform. The highlight of my year will be the addition of the 40th AM French Resistance Fighter. Unless Hasbro or Modelers Loft issues a bunch of new repro joes, I'll probably curtail my hobby spending for a while and focus on a few vintage AM uniforms and AM and AT vehicles that I still need. My "holy grail" is a fully operational AT Mobile Support Vehicle and the AT helicopter.

I hope you enjoy the pictures of my collection!

Words fail. What a nice lineup. GO JOE!

Action Man is also well represented in Rene's collection.

Rene's collection is full of high-quality, well detailed figures like these. Great photos too!

The Timeless lineup never looked better!

Vintage AT members have brought home a captured pygmy gorilla. "Good job, men."

Another group of AT members prepare to "hit the desert" in search of a lost mummy.

An Adventure Team squad waiting in the control room of the headquarters.

"OK, Commander...We've got all our gear on and we're ready to go. What's the next mission?"

And Don't Miss...
