Biography and Qualifications
I am a Louisiana native and grew up in the small bayou town of Lecompte. In the summer of 2002, I returned to Lousiana after making my home for a number of years in Illinois. My wife, Carrie, and I currently live in Baton Rouge.
My compositions, including jingles, underscores for video and TV, music for dance, and concert works for orchestra, chamber ensembles, and various electronic media, have been presented in settings throughout the United States and the world. I have also performed, composed, and arranged for rock, jazz, and vocal ensembles, and have provided arrangements for marching band.
My education includes B. Mus. and M. Mus. degrees in composition from Louisiana State University and a D.M.A. degree in composition/theory from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Prior to starting my business here in Baton Rouge, I was a music teacher. I have been on the faculty at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois. At these schools, I was responsible for teaching music composition, electronic music, and music theory.
