Implementation

Kiwi was written in C++ for UNIX on the Encore Multimax. It relies on the Encore Parallel Threads Library[1], which provides shared memory and multiprogramming support. Kiwi also runs under CHOICES, an object-oriented operating system being developed here at UIUC. Some familiarity with C++ is assumed in the explanations below; for more information, consult [14] and [15].
