Listening to output at UIUC

The easiest way to playback samples is to use the NeXT machine. There are several located in the basement of DCL. It is best to use the sumter, since it has a hard disk. Use ftp to bring your samples from the multimax onto the NeXT disk. Then, use dd to reverse the byte order of your file. Failure to reverse the byte order before playing results in a nasty sound! You can use the sndmake and sndplay utilities to play your samples.
